Ry wants fresh cut french fries and mashed potatoes.

I’d like to try to make homemade pizza dough.  Don (yinz2yall.wordpress.com) made pizza the other week that were decent. Made me want to try my hand at it.

Sesame Chicken

September 9, 2008

I’ve been working on learning how to prepare the simple americanized chinese restaurant dish of sesame chicken.  It’s slowly coming together. I have a tough food critic to please. My twelve year old niece Car 54 (her name has been edited since she is paranoid of blogs and pretty and ugly people may be reading).  It’s getting close.

breaded chicken breast (cornstarch, egg, white pepper, cooking wine)

sauce

2 tablespoons dark soy

1 tablespoon light soy

2 teaspoons cornstarch

1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar

1 cup of chicken broth

ginger/garlic/green onions

i’m loco for locopops

September 6, 2008

After Matthew’s High Blue Belt test, my brother’s family came over to the house.  Kyong was telling of this great popsicle place with great flavors.  I finally decided to go with them.  The place was called Locopops.  It’s located across the street from NC State on Hillsborough Street (Old Darryl’s). She was right!  The place is tasty and simple.I enjoyed it so much i had four. I especially enjoyed the pomegranate tangerine twice. I also had the mango chile and pomegranate cranapple. Best 2 dollars spent on a Saturday afternoon.
