i’m loco for locopops

September 6, 2008

After Matthew’s High Blue Belt test, my brother’s family came over to the house.  Kyong was telling of this great popsicle place with great flavors.  I finally decided to go with them.  The place was called Locopops.  It’s located across the street from NC State on Hillsborough Street (Old Darryl’s). She was right!  The place is tasty and simple.I enjoyed it so much i had four. I especially enjoyed the pomegranate tangerine twice. I also had the mango chile and pomegranate cranapple. Best 2 dollars spent on a Saturday afternoon.

HAPPY 4TH

July 4, 2008

Woke up at 7:30am and decided to go to Sam’s Club. Called up my bro Dave and off we went for early warehouse food shopping.  We decided to get people together from an impromptu 4th of July cookout.  We made a pasta salad (dave made it), dry rub grilled chicken wings, grilled salmon, more bubba burgers (still have so many left from my birthday), hot dogs, Allan made a hummus tray.  Dan, Dave B. and family, Dave’s family, Allan, Kate, Cindy came over for good food.  Kyong and the kids followed for swimming and watermelon.  We learned to better control the charcoal grill.  We’ve named the grill the Max Weber (Vay-bur) famed sociologist.  Cookouts are a summer ritual of community.  A social tool bringing family and friends closer.  Thanks to all that hung out today.  We went to Auntie Baby’s house this evening for dinner in honor of her late mother.  Nice to see and be with family.
